A few weeks ago, Illinois Unidos attended the 2024 ILLCF Raíces Conference in Rosemont, IL. It was an inspiring experience to connect with leaders, advocates, and partners passionate about making positive change in our communities.
We had the opportunity to table at the event, sharing our mission and meeting fellow nonprofit leaders. One of the highlights was the keynote speech by Democracy Now!’s Juan González, who provided powerful insights on the history of Mexicans in Chicago. It was also wonderful to reconnect with partners like Marta Cerda from ASI Home Care and others.
The Raíces Conference, organized by the Illinois Latino Legislative Caucus Foundation (ILLCF), is unique in its focus on interactive roundtable discussions. Attendees came together to discuss key topics such as Health Equity, Immigration, Education, and more. These discussions help shape the 2025 Raíces policy agenda, ensuring our work is informed by community voices.
We’re already excited for next year’s conference! Thank you to ILLCF for hosting such an impactful event and to everyone who connected with us—we look forward to working together to advance equity and representation for all.
