Diabetes remains one of the most common and challenging chronic illnesses among older adults, touching every aspect of health—physical, emotional, and social. Guided by Executive Director Alejandra Ibáñez and coordinated by Mary Ortiz, Illinois Unidos delivered an eight-session training at The Linder House of Chicago, designed to boost self-care, treatment adherence, and quality of life.
The program was not just about managing a disease—it was about honoring the wisdom, resilience, and life stories of the participants, creating a space where learning flowed both ways. Illinois Unidos proudly thanks Jazmín Ramos and Adriana Coria for their expertise and dedication in leading the Deep Diabetes training.
